April 1

I seem to remember doing this last year. Wracking my brain for an April Fool’s joke to play on someone. I can’t do one on Mom, because she either sees right through me or decides to take me to the Vet. Yuck!  Not that I don’t like Doctor Larry, but I see him enough as it is.  So this year’s joke is that there are no jokes!  And I’m not kidding!

April 15

Everyone get their taxes done and in on time?  You should think about becoming a cat.  We don’t have to do taxes.

April 21

I’m not sure what’s going on with the local deer population, but this morning we had three soon-to-be momma deer down on the back patio checking things out. One had its nose pressed against the bedroom slider, one was checking out what might be on the kitchen table through the bay window, and the other one was acting like it was going to try to get into the living room. I hope they weren’t checking out places to have their kids.  I mean, I don’t mind them in the yard, but inside the house is Sanderson territory, and I don’t intend to start sharing with a bunch of flee- and tick-bitten critters with squalling brats!

April 23

You don’t suppose I could make some baby-sitting money, do you?  Too bad the little ones aren’t here yet.  Maybe I could earn enough to get Mom a really nice Mother’s Day gift. I’ll wait and see what she gets me for my birthday.  Sure hope it isn’t my very own deer.

April 28

It is getting closer to my birthday. I wonder what Mom’s going to do for this year? See? Cats get anxious just like people do.  I hope she doesn’t invite all the outside critters over, though I wouldn’t mind getting better acquainted with a couple of the cats that wander through now and then.
