Sanderson's Diary, August 2007
August 1 Did you know that the Zinnia was named after the German botanist J. G. Zinn who lived in the 1700s, is the State Flower of Indiana, and is one of the few flowers the deer don’t eat up here? I wonder how they taste to a cat? I’m about to find out . . . August 6 Well, we got our new air conditioner (why they call it a heat pump I will never understand) and things are pretty close to normal around here again. Of course, the compressor burned out so we needed a whole new unit, but on the positive side, at least all the parts are the same age now and under warranty. Mom says that is important, so I’ll take her word for it. Maybe its a heat pump kind of thing. August 20 Did I tell you I got Mom a horse for her birthday this year? Well not a real horse. They don’t do well in the house, and are a real pain to clean up after. This one is called “iGallop,” and is a core and ab exerciser. I figured it would fit in good in her gym. You plug it in to an electrical outlet, turn it on, and can make it trot, gallop, race, or some combination of the three while you get to watch Mom do ab exercises while trying to stay on. Yeeeeeee ha!! Ought to liven things up a bit around here. Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
