August 1

Hmmm . . . Still deciding.  It is getting difficult to do my research without her finding out what I am up to.

August 4

Busted!  Mom was looking through our browser’s history for something and found out that I had googled blackberry and wanted to know why I had a sudden interest in fruits and vegetables!  Well, I couldn’t talk my way around that one, so I had to give up the surprise.  I’m getting Mom a Blackberry for her birthday. I suppose it is just as well that she found out, because that way I can have her go pick it up at the wireless store here in town and save on shipping and handling!

August 6

The Siskiyou County Fair opens today.  Mom and my Aunt Barb are going tonight, and if Mom wants, she can check her e-mail on her Blackberry.  I guess it beat getting shoes, because last night I got an extra brushing and an extra handful of treats! 

August 21

I think the deer around here are getting a bit too familiar with the place.  This morning I looked outside and saw four of them on the patio eating out of the barrels of flowers.  I tapped on the glass with my paw, and all I got for my effort was dirty looks.  I sure wasn’t much of a deterrent.  I wonder where they will go after they eat us out of house and home? The least they could do is be polite about it!
