Sanderson's Diary, August 2009
August 6 Mom went to get her hair cut this afternoon so I have the house to myself. I wonder what kind of mischief I can get into? On second thought, perhaps I’ll just take a nap. That way I’ll be wide awake to admire the “do” when Mom gets home. It shouldn’t take more than a few strategically placed paws to fix it. August 12 The Siskiyou County Fair opens tonight. Mom and Aunt Barb are going to go check it out. I sure hope they aren’t selling those weasel balls like she got me when I was just a kitten. It fell apart in a couple of minutes, which was okay, because that was about the same time I lost interest in it anyway. There should be a separate Fair for cats, or at least a section in the existing one that has cat toys designed by cats. That way they would be taste tested and proven perfect! August 13 Today was Mom’s birthday. I got her a pair of sandals with toe rings for the big toes. I guess it makes the shoes fit more securely. Personally, I think human shoes would fit a lot better if humans had fur on their feet like us cats. You would never have to bother with socks. Oops. Don’t let Mom read this diary entry. She’ll probably try to make me wear clothes like Claybourne. How would I be able to shred things if I had to wear shoes? August 19 It seems like school starts earlier every year. It really makes it difficult for a cat to get into the window to watch the kiddies walking to school when the city won’t get the schedule right. School used to start up the Tuesday after Labor Day. Now it’s just another holiday in the school year. Sure makes a cat glad he doesn’t have to go to school! Besides, I get a great education right here on our property from all the cats and bigger animals that pass through the yard each night. I’m really glad Mom decided not to fence. It makes for better entertainment! Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
