Sanderson's Diary, July 1998
July 4 Independence Day! The time to celebrate our freedom, and for us cats, the time to hide behind the bedskirts with our ears plugged. And for us Maine Coons, you need some pretty good sized ear plugs! Oh the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air . . . boy what a racket some folks will make in the attempt to party down! July 14 Mom got some new furniture for the living room. It is pillow soft, really comfy, and boy is it the weave nice to stick my claws into! (Mom doesn't like that part so much.) But it does get me a lot of extra attention, because she pops right up out of the chair and comes and picks me up! It was too funny watching her get ready for the new stuff. I have a whole collection of recycled ping pong balls again! I feel another vacation in the air. Mom brought some new luggage home, and stuff like that makes me nervous. Between that and the new furniture, I'm not sure if we are coming or going!!!! I hear that she is going back to Ontario, Canada, and this time to a fishing village at the north end of Lake Erie. Fishing . . . boy does that bring up some great images! July 23 I think Mom needs a keeper. She is getting ready for this vacation, and is staying up too late at night. I have been herding her upstairs by unplugging the livingroom lamps, but she just moves to the computer where she doesn't need the extra light! And then she turns up the volume on the clock-radio in the hopes that she won't go back to sleep after the alarm goes off in the morning. Well, I don't like that, because I snooze on that end table in the mornings myself. So today I just reached up a paw and turned the volume down. Boy did that get her out of bed in a hurry! Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
