Sanderson's Diary, July 2006
July 1 Grooming is so important, isn’t it? I always try to look my best. Aren’t I nice and fluffy? July 4 Happy Independence Day, America! Well, the neighborhood kids (regardless of their ages) got started last night, so I knew what to expect today. Lots of pops and bangs. I don’t know what the fascination is with fireworks. You light the fuse, stand around wondering if it is going to do something, and if you make the mistake of sneezing at the wrong moment, you miss it. I did watch some through the window though. You know, you never know when it’s going to come up in conversation, and there I’d be without any thing to talk about. Guess I’d punt to Mom. July 15 I love it when the UPS driver comes. The last few times it was shoes. This time it was a deck box for Mom’s pond skimmer, spare filters for the pumps, treats for me (just threw that one in to see if you were paying attention), and a bunch of other stuff she uses to try to keep the water clear. We sure have had a surplus of algae this year, but it’s on the run now. Don’t listen to all those guys with internet sites that want to sell you ultrasound and other whizz bang systems guaranteed to cost a fortune. The secret is swimming pool stuff. Hey, if you can swim in it, it ought to be okay for deer, frogs, and snakes, right? At least I haven’t seen any carcasses in the yard. July 21 It has been quite hot and muggy lately. There are thunderstorms in the distance, as well as fires, and it makes the sky look pretty ugly (that’s an oxymoron, right?. I decided not to exert myself too much, so I had an extra nap or two. July 30 It is only a couple of weeks until Mom’s birthday. Don’t tell her, but I bought her a neat pair of all-terrain running shoes in blue and gray. I just went to the Internet site where all those shoes the UPS driver brings come from, did a little browsing, and voila! Instant gift in route!. It is such fun being a technocat. Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
