Sanderson's Diary, July 2008
July 4 It’s a grand old flag, it’s a high-flying flag. Well, at least ours sure is. With the North wind we’ve been having, the flag is standing tall and trying to point due South over the back of the garage! By mid-afternoon you could count on any object weighing less than a good sized cat to be moving in the same direction. Oh well, at least a North wind blows out a bit of the smoke from all the forest fires up here. I sure hope they don’t torch off more with the fireworks tonight. July 7 Well, no new fires from the fireworks, but there is still a whole lot of smoke in the air. I think it is from the fires, because the smoke from those smelly fireworks must have dissipated by now. There’s something to be said for being an indoor man. The air conditioning filters out a lot of what my outdoor friends have to breathe. Makes me tired just thinking about labored breathing. I’ll have to have a nap. July 25 I have about three weeks to decide and shop for Mom’s birthday. I know she’s expecting shoes again, so I’ve decided to do something different this year. I bet you wonder what it’s going to be. Well, I can’t tell you yet, because if Mom reads this she will know and it will spoil the surprise. July 30 I have it picked out. I just have to decide if I should order it over the Internet or tell Mom and have her go pick it up locally. Ah, decisions. Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
