June 1

And the thunder rolls . . .  It has sure been doing it around here.  It has been REALLY loud, like it the lightening is striking pretty close to the house.  I thought June was supposed to be warm and sunny. And quiet! Well, we’ve got quite a bit of month left. I’ll reserve judgment from under the bed.

Mom’s figured out a new trick to make sure I swallow my pill.  She brushes me and gives me treats right after the pill.  Hey, a guy’s gotta swallow good to get the full flavor of the treats, and of course I swallow them fast, so they take down anything else along with them. Hmmm. maybe we could go to three times a day?

June 5

We’ve only had one non-rainy day out of the last five. If April showers bring May flowers, what do we get with all this rain in June besides good sleeping weather? (But then it is always good sleeping weather for a cat.) At least today we didn’t have any thunder and lightening, just wind and rain, so I could sleep on top of the bed instead of under it!.

The deer babies are early this year. Yesterday evening right after the rain, we had a deer in the back yard as big as a horse, and it had the tiniest little twin kids with it. They weren’t much bigger than jack rabbits. Actually, at first I thought they WERE jackrabits, except I’ve never seen a spotted jack rabbit. The twins were all covered in little white spots and still nursing.  One of them tottered over and laid down and went to sleep by the edge of the pond. It blended right in with the rocks!

Dang.  She did it to me again. I seem to remember something about being told that I would get to stay at home for a while.  But that was before my Uncle Jim, Komquat’s dad, passed away. So here I sit enjoying (NOT) the amenities of the pet hotel. If only there was more to do around here!

June 23

Well, things got more interesting once I got home again. Aunt Kathy is getting married this afternoon, so a couple of days ago Aunt Roberta came over and she and Mom fixed a basked of party favors for a luncheon on Friday.  There were lots of ribbons, which I had a great deal of fun chasing after, much to their chagrin. What are they complaining about. Didn’t they know the rule of fix one for them, one for the cat?

Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon.
