Sanderson's Diary, May 1998
May 1 Another year older and deeper in debt? Wow, what a party! Friends, neighbors, relatives, special guest appearances, such a great time! I could get used to all the attention. And now I understand I am even going to go on vacation... I guess you have to be a year old before you get to go? Well, I'll provide more details as they become available, but Mom's talking about flying. I hope we go in an airplane, because I know my paws will get tired from all the flapping.
May 10 Mom returned from her trip to Toronto and picked me up from the pet resort . . . boy was I glad to get back to familiar surroundings. I feel sorry for some of those guys like Shirley. She has been in the resort for a month now. She seemed happy though. I'm too restless for a long stay, but it was fun having play time each afternoon! I sort of wrapped myself around Mom and didn't let her out of my sight for a couple of days. And she did bring me back some cool stuff. May 20 Well, I'm up to my old tricks of inventing my own toys again. This time I have taken a fancy to those little rubber caps on the ends of the door stops. The whole assembly makes the most satisfying "thwack" when the cap comes off! And then I get to hockey puck the little objects all over the house. Mom has the most fun finding them and try to locate the doors each one came from. (I am careful to leave a couple of them on the stoppers just to be devilish!) May 24 Mom thought we had a prowler the other night. She was lying there in bed and heard the closet door slide open. Scary? No, it was just me playing with the doors! If I sit on the nightstand and really stretch, I can reach the closet door and start it sliding open with a paw. And then I turn back to Mom so innocently . . .
May 28 You know I sleep on the pillow next to Mom when she will let me, right? Tonight is going to be a whole lot of fun... Mom went shopping for new "bed clothes," and I get to sleep in them! Totally cool! Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
