Sanderson's Diary, May 2001
May 1 In addition to today being May Day, it is also my fourth birthday! Wow. I was told that I would be full grown on my fourth birthday, but I'm not so sure. Mom keeps feeding me treats (of course, that one is my idea), and I keep scarfing them up, so I think I've got a little more growth potential here, no matter what they say. We have pictures from the party earlier today, but the camera is shy (as opposed to me being camera shy), so I am pictured above with my Easter prezzies. Give me a few days, and I'll get the party photos up for everyone to see. I had thought about ending my diary when I turned four, but I am having a good time with it and haven't yet decided what to do. If you have an opinion, please e-mail me and let me know. I know I am supposed to be a mature cat now, but ask Mom, she'll tell you that I haven't yet given up on my youth. Her ankles are just as delectable to munch on while we climb the stairs as they ever were. Of course, the fact that I weigh a little more hanging off a foot might be a problem, but not for me! May 13 This month is full of holidays. (Of course for me, every day is a holiday.) Anyhow, as today is Mothers' Day, I made up a little poem for my Mom. Here it goes: M is for the Many treats you feed me, Okay, so the poetry is a little shaky, but the sentiment is there. And a Happy Mothers' Day to all you Moms out there! May 28 Here's one for you holiday fans. Today is the Memorial Day holiday for the State of California. And don't ask me why, but once again I've missed the Indy 500, somehow thinking that it would be held on the day the holiday is celebrated, not the day before. Oh well, who wants to watch a bunch of cars go round and round. We've got our own two in the garage. They generally just sit there so politely when I go out to visit them. But when I'm in the mood, Mom takes me out for a spin in one or the other. Mitsi goes a lot faster, but then so do I when I ride in her. I tend to slide right off the seats! Hers are leather, you know. Now Tad, on the other hand, has seats of whole cloth. His tweedy demeanor is a tactile delight for us furry folks and just purrfect to settle into. Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
