Sanderson's Diary, May 2008
May 1 Happy Sanderson Day, everyone! That’s right. The boy (that’s me, for those of you who are new to this) is eleven years old today. And I don’t feel a day over ten. Well actually I guess I am a day over ten, come to think about it. Mom got me my all-time favorite. More foam golf balls! See, I wear them out pretty fast playing with them at night and then biting into them and carrying them to the food dish. I figure they need a snack after we play. May 5 Happy Cinco de Mayo. I figure this is also a good day to shop for a Mothers’ Day present. A guy can’t go too wrong with shoes. I mean, Moms love shoes, right? And since we found this great shoe store online with free overnight shipping, I’ll be sure to have them in plenty of time. There are many advantages to being a cybercat. May 11 Happy Mothers’ Day, all you moms out there. Mine is pretty darned good to me, so I wanted to be good to her today. I let her brush me an extra time. And about 12:30 this morning I woke her up because we had a frog in the house. I managed to corner it, but a guy loses interest pretty quickly when they don’t want to play. So Mom got up, figured out what was going on, scooped it up into a coffee mug, and turned it loose on the front porch. I told her she did such a good job she deserved to go back to bed for a few hours. How about that! May 24 Can you believe this is the Memorial Day weekend? Seems like it is here awfully early this year, but then I guess it wouldn’t do to celebrate it in June, which it would be if we waited until next weekend. And the livestock don’t care. They just wander through no matter what day it is. I expect to hear one of them singing “They call me the wanderer . . . “ one of these times on his way through. They would call me “the wonderer” though, because I keep wondering why they don’t stay home! Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon.
