October 4

I think I have a new friend, but I’m not sure if it is a boy-friend or girl-friend.  In any case, it is a  visiting cat from a ways out behind our property.  It must be really shy, because Mom says she’s seen it around for several years, but this year is the first time it’s come up to the doorstep to visit at night. I’d think maybe it wants to be buddies, but every time Mom goes to the door to get a closer look, my friend takes off.

October 16

I think I have solved the problem of what to call a cat when you’re not sure if it is a boy or a girl. I’m going to call it my “door-friend, or “Doro” for short! Doro and I like to stare at each other.  Or at least we do until some of the bigger critters drop by and Doro runs for his/her life. It’s a good thing we cats have the proverbial nine lives and Doro is a quick runner, because we have some really big critters around here.  I think we had a visit from a mountain lion last night, because boy did Doro tear out of here in a hurry.

October 23

Mom is going to have knee surgery tomorrow, so today she’s wrapping Christmas presents like crazy. I sure hope most of them are for me. I do so love all that lovely crinkly paper, and this year it is solid red. Sometimes the packaging can be as much fun to play with as the present itself!  

October 25

Mom’s home, and for at least a while, it will sure be easier to keep up with her.  What I like is that she does a lot of laying around and will cuddle with me for as long as I want! And she’s home all the time, because her leg doesn’t fit in a car very well.  I sure hope Aunt Barb and Aunt Kathy are keeping an eye on the food supply. I keep dropping hints. You know all that stuff that ends up in the litter box?  Well, it’s an input/output situation, so make sure we don’t run out of input! Do you think my running around with a hunk of the food bag in my mouth is over the top?
