Sanderson's Diary, September 1998
September 1 Well September has started with a blast. A blast of hot air, that is! This is the third day in the triple digits when it should be cooling down for fall. I'm not sure it is ever going to get cool again. And I have shed about all I can without resembling one of those Egyptian kitties. Thank goodness for the cool hearth! September 7 It is Labor Day here in the states. So I thought it would be appropriate if Mom labored. I've got her fetching my ping pong balls out from under the sofa and chairs, and from under the stove in the kitchen while I watch! Ah but it does a body good to watch another work. After all, I reclined on the bathroom counter top and provided advise while Mom dried her hair and put on her make-up this morning. It's only fair, right? September 19 The kiddies are back in school again. Well, I am learning new things too! I am getting to be quite adept with a ping pong ball. When Mom and I play soccer, I have the angles figured out so I can kick the ball into a baseboard and get it to go right to where Mom is standing. I'm also getting to be a pretty good wide receiver when we play football. (No, I'm not getting broader, just better at catching, silly!) I love it when Mom spikes the ball and I can come tearing into the room, jump four feet or so into the air, and come down with the ball in my front paws. I pull it to my chest as I land on my back feet and then wave it around to be sure everyone saw my remarkable reception!!! So I guess that means that my favorite subject in school at the moment is Gym, right? Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
