Sanderson's Diary, September 2008
September 1 I guess it is appropriate that Labor Day comes on a Monday, as Mondays usually start out the week’s labor for most folks. It might be a big deal if I actually worked for a living, but we know I just couldn’t decide on a profession in my earlier life. While a lot of things had appeal, somehow I just settled into being a “kept man,” and have certainlly enjoyed my life of leisure. So here’s to all you folks who work for a living. Keep those cogs of commerce crankin’! September 9 This morning there was a deer clear up on our front porch. Who knows what it wanted. I’d think the cement would be hard on the hooves, but Bambi there didn’t seem to mind. I wouldn’t have been surprised if she had sat down on the park bench to rest a spell. She sure was eying it! September 10 News flash - the doe must have seen the “Welcome Deer Friends” sign on the front door and was going to take Mom up on the offer. Luckily they don’t do too well with door knobs. Can you imagine how their sharp little hooves would shred the carpeting? September 18 It’s only 2 o’clock in the afternoon and the wind is blowing like crazy up here. The deer are shaking their ears in irritation, Mom is thinking of all the pine needles she’ll have to rake up, and I’m going to take a nap. Personally, I think I have the best solution to the problem! Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
