December 2

It has turned cold all of a sudden. I'm starting to fluff up pretty good, and enjoying sleeping in a little longer each morning. Wait a minute . . . sounds like I'm getting ready to hibernate like a bear. Oops, going to have to watch that. I don't think there's any chance I will be mistaken for a bear though, I'm just too small. (Bet you never thought you'd hear that one.) Well, maybe a golden bear. I do live in California you know!

I helped Mom write our Christmas Letter today. I got to sign my name with a paw print. We had a lot of fun. Writing the message was almost as much fun as trying to chew up the copies as Mom signed cards and put everything in envelopes. It gives one a special feeling of belonging to a family at the holidays. And I know I can look forward to another enjoyable meal in the near future!

Last night Mom was futzing around the house trying to get things ready to make her special mashed potatoes for a potluck where she works. We've been having stage 3 power alerts, so she decided to do her cooking at about 0600 hours to conserve energy by not having to reheat stuff from the 'fridge the next day. You know, a cat can be a pretty good advisor to a human to make sure they get the right proportions together!

I'm getting excited. Only three days 'til Christmas. I always get such fun gifts, and the wrapping paper is almost as much fun to play with as the prezzies themselves!

December 26

I was not disappointed. A kid should have as much fun as me on Christmas. New toys, tasty food, special treats, and the enjoyment of family letting me plow through all the boxes and wrappings after everything is opened and on display!

I finally settled on the real gift I got Mom for Christmas. I started out to get her the new laptop, but I ordered it too soon and it showed up around Halloween. So then I decided that I would get her the USB scanner, but then that one showed up around Thanksgiving. So I let her think those weren't from me. But lo and behold, the cradle for the Palm V Organizer didn't want to share the serial port (I guess it was more fun to run with scissors than to play well with others), so there was nowhere to plug in the old digital camera. So beginning in January 2001, you can look at me in 1.3 megapixel resolution with six power zoom and flash! I might even get brave and let you watch a short video clip of me doing something awesome. Stay tuned!

Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon.
