German Pork Chops
4 pork chops 2 tablespoons flour salt and pepper to taste 3 tablespoons bacon grease 1 large onion, diced 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 cups sauerkraut, juice included) 2 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Dredge pork chops in flour, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Brown the chops in bacon grease in a skillet. Add diced onion and cook until onion begins to turn translucent. Dissolve brown sugar in kraut juice and return to the kraut. Mix apples and sesame seeds into the kraut and spoon mixture over chops. Cover skillet tightly and cook over a low heat for 45 minutes. Serves four.
