Sanderson's Diary, January 2009
January 4 Half way through the first week of the year and I’m already glad I didn’t make any resolutions! January 13 The snow eventually melted on its own with the help of a little rain. I was a bit disappointed that Mom didn’t get the tractor out. I was kind of hoping I could convince her to take me for a ride on it. January 24 Mom left early yesterday morning on a road trip. I hid under the bed in the hopes she’d forget to pack me up for a trip to the Hotel. I guess it worked, because I didn’t have to go anywhere and Mom came home late last night. I was a little lonesome during the day, but it sure beat the hotel room. Of course I just pretended I’d slept the whole time and came out stretching when I heard the car in the driveway. Nonchalance is something us cats do well. January 28 I saw a fox in the backyard this morning. It was a young red one. I was sitting in the south-facing window in the master bedroom and saw it come strolling along like it owned the place. Well, at least until it looked up at the window and saw me. When it decided we were about the same size it ran like it had on Red Ball Jets (remember Run Faster, Jump Higher?) and I lost it under a big patch of buck brush. Guess I’ll jump up on the bed and have a nap in the sun. Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
