Sanderson Naps in Shadows

March 1

Here I am trying to nap in the little bit of sunshine that’s available in March and Mom shows up with the camera.  Sorry if I look disgruntled, but what’s a guy to do when awakened so rudely from sleep? Notice my fur standing on end? The wind is blowing up a storm, and I do mean that literally!  It is supposed to snow in the next couple of nights.

Sure has been cold enough. I am convinced that all the temperature measuring devices around here are out of kilter, because even with a fur coat on I am cold.  Fortunately, Mom got out a big comforter while she was watching the Olympics last week and left it on the futon in the office afterward, so I have something to burrow into when the sun goes down.  Ummm, contemplating the country from charismatic, cozy comfort.  I do love being a cat.  We are expected to take naps!

I hid the remote controlled mouse. Don’t tell Mom!  Maybe she’ll just think I ate it and toss the remote. Well, I did eat the end of the antenna, or tail in terms of mouscular anatomy. I felt sorry for it each time it got stuck on a carpet nub, so I picked it up and took it to the office, and from there it wasn’t too hard to hide.  I’ll know how good my hiding place is by how long it takes Mom to uncover it.

March 9

It snowed today, finally.  We get e-mail alerts from a couple of different weather forecasting concerns, and so far this month they have either been dead wrong or else the snow has been wrapped in Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak.  Hmmm, I wonder how you would go about wrapping snow, and what happens when it melts?  Not that I have to worry about that, snuggled into my comforter all cozy and warm in the office. I do wish the weather alert would quit pinging on the computer though. It has a tendency to interrupt my nap. But then that is always a good opportunity to stretch and seek out a few treats. I refuse to beg, it is so unbecoming in a cat. Feline purrsuasion works almost as well, though, and isn’t nearly so demeaning!

March 26

Light switches.  Interesting objects.  You’d think they might be a challenge for a cat, as they do so many things at a time. Like on the main panel in the living room. It controls the ceiling fan, switch and dimmer for the wall spots, and one more switch that I guess controls a wall plug, though I haven’t yet figured out which one. Anyway, as I’ve got the little toggle on the switch for the spots down pretty good, I’ve started working on the one for the ceiling fan.  It is on a rotating switch, so it is a little trickier. Mom’s thinking that the fan must be coming on through spontaneous combustion or something. You know, the siren in town that alerts the volunteer fire department to a call somewhere must be turning on the fan.  I’ll never tell!

Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon.
