Sanderson's Diary, November 2008
November 1 Boy did I have a rude awakening yesterday morning. Out came the dreaded carrier, and in went the cat. Yes, it was me, though I tried to convince Mom to take some other cat to the vet. But no, I wasn’t just going to the vet. We just made a flying visit there enroute to the pet resort. Turns Mom and my aunt have gone to do the Thanksgiving visit to the relatives in the Sacramento Valley. No, it is not Thanksgiving until the end of the month, but this year they wanted to go before the fog set in and the roadways got nasty. Well, at least we didn’t have trick-or-treaters, and the wireless Internet is good. And I had my cousins Buffy and Fancy at the “hotel” with me, so we were able to serenade the staff with our musical talents. November 3 Mom picked me up from the “hotel” this morning. Sure was good to get home to my own bed. I guess I’m getting set in my ways as an older fur-person. There’s no place like home! November 4 Today is Election Day in the United States. That’s all I’m going to say on the subject, because we all know that the best candidate for the presidency would have been a cat! November 17 It is getting so cold outside. No, I don’t know from personal experience, aside from the few times Mom will hold me in her arms on the front porch while she chats with a neighbor, but this weather station thingee we have that sits on one of the livingroom end tables tells me the outside temperature from a remote censor. Sure is good to have a human to sleep with. They like heated mattress pads, and the warmth radiates up through my pillow. All I have to do is purr and Mom goes right to sleep so I can prowl the house and visit with my nocturnal friends through the windows and glass doors. November 27 Thanksgiving was great this year. I didn’t have to spend it in the Hotel! Check back now and then. I'll keep you posted on the latest developments! Hope to see you soon. Sanderson |
